Sustainable Routes grants pass the £500,000 mark
625 businesses in the South East of England have already benefited from a Sustainable Routes grant, but as funding is limited, those businesses yet to apply should act quickly or risk losing out!
The grant which took Sustainable Routes over the half a million pound landmark was awarded to Lightning Fire Safety Systems, who used £1,000 to support the purchase of vehicle tracking software for their fleet. The software allows the central office to map their vehicles, allowing staff to optimise the way that jobs are allocated. The company estimates an annual saving of 13,000 miles, reducing their company emissions and running costs.
SMEs with a turnover exceeding £75,000 in the South East of England are eligible to apply for £1,000 of grant funding. Many companies who received a smaller grant in the past are now returning to claim a second grant to claim their maximum £1,000 allowance.
Here are a few other examples of how the grant has been used by SMEs, you can also read our online case studies:
- Laptops for employees to work remotely
- Server upgrade to support remote working
- Bicycles, storage and showers to encourage active travel
- LPG vehicle conversions
