Thousands of pounds saved thanks to Sustainable Routes
Sustainable Routes grants have helped numerous businesses to save money, increase turnover and improve productivity, all as a result of thinking green.
The recent history of Sustainable Routes grants has seen a litany of positive outcomes; among them is Paul Widdowson of Event Planners who purchased a new laptop for his apprentice to work from home and develop the firm’s new website and e-commerce site. As a result a 16 mile round trip, 3 times a week, was saved. In all, this came to 2,496 miles worth of petrol and 1,138.18kg of CO2 being saved.
Virtuoso Ltd has seen net profit increase by 3-5%, and the reason is a Sustainable Routes grant. The company converted a petrol car to one run by Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), which has seen savings of £100-£150 per month in fuel bills, and a much reduced carbon footprint.
Meanwhile Andrea Booker, Grant Manager at The Philippine Community Fund was delighted with her Sustainable Routes grant after they saved 4,200 miles worth of fuel costs and 1,440.6kg in CO2 emissions. The extra time she had by not spending so much time travelling enabled her to focus on writing grants. They have also freed up enough funds to hire an admin assistant.
